Looks like Nightschool v2 just got reviewed over on Manga Life!

http://www.mangalife.com/reviews/NightschoolTheWeirnBooksv2.htm

Really short excerpt from the article:

Chmakova's art continues to be a pleasure; it's full of energy, personality, and humor. I especially love how she uses her art to highlight the many moments of comic relief; the characters' expressions do a great job of selling the jokes. (Don't miss the hilarious scene where one character attempts to describe her reading material to another one.)

Congrats, Svet!! :D

The article itself goes on to describe more about the story and other features -- definitely check it out!

(v2 is due out around October 27th, 2009, in case you're looking for it!)

*dusts off the community*

Hi everyone, how's it going? Good? Yeah? That's good.

Hey, I just wanted to remind you folks that the first volume of Nightschool is out there on the shelf at your favorite bookstore just waiting for you to bring it home. (It's also available at Amazon, which is an online store you may have heard of and not some South American river like those teachers try to make you believe.)

If you haven't been reading the monthly publications of Nightschool found inside Yen Plus and are only on this community because of Dramacon, you've kind of been missing out...but this is your chance for redemption. The first six chapters of Nightschool are all found within the first volume of the manga. (...plus, a couple of bonus pages like you saw in Dramacon.)

So go on out and buy a copy of Nightschool. You'll be glad you did. See if you can find all the places that Mr. Raccoon appears.

After you've read it, why not post about it here?
...or over in the Yatta Con forums? *plug plug*

Just be careful of spoilers for anyone that hasn't seen the latest chapters in Yen Plus yet.

OK, it's been a bit of a slow news time, seeing as there really hasn't been any :)

Svet's been in Montreal for the past week, buried in snow, doing some work on the show and writing the next chapter of Nightschool. She's came back this Saturday and today we'll be trimming the tree! Yay! I'm a sucker for the holidays, and Christmas especially :D.
OK, umm... Something newsy... New issue of Yen Plus is out!  link: http://yenpress.us/?p=593  We get to find out where Hunters get their bandaids.
And for those who were wondering--the first collected volume of Nightschool will be out in April and will have the first 6 chapters of Nighschool.
Also, Svet says hi and sends a picture of what Montreal looks like in the winter!

Anyhoo, that's it for this update. Tune in next... ummm *unintelligeble*..day for more Svetnews!

Boy, am I glad I got Sasha to kick my butt gently persuade me to post more! :D
I am back from England* and I uploaded some photos to my Flickr account (finally! It only took me two years! Just watch, maybe my DevArt account is next?! *shock! gasp!*) I am writing up a short report and I have more photos to upload later this week *waves to the Sweatdrop crew* I bet you know which ones I'm talking about, hee :3

But first, some news items!

1. Yen Plus #4 is out on the shelves! In this issue Alex somehow manages to stay out of trouble again (..or does she?!) via bribery. Also! Bonus comic of my food adventures in San Diego! Oh, that poor poor waiter, I am still sorry...

2. In case there are any librarians reading this--I will be attending the YALSA conference in Nashville this Friday. If you are coming out to that, please come by and say hi! :D

Speaking of that, I now have to go pack... Or maybe I should get some sleep first?.. Decisions decisionzZzZZzZzzzzzzz......

*I actually came back last week, but... Stuff. >.> And Such 6.6;; XD

So, right at this moment Svet's eagerly awaiting her flight to London. She will arrive there early tomorrow morning, hopefully well rested, as she was expecting to sleep on the flight.
For those of you who had questions from the previous post, she apologizes profusely for not being able to reply to all and said that she will endeavor to do so in London.

She is coming back on Wednesday and things should get back to some semblance of normalcy (although the frequent trips ARE the norm :D)

I was supposed to post this last week but things got in the way and then tonight [info]chebusashka gave me a Look, so now I'm scared and quickly posting before she does something dire to meeeeee...

This weekend!! I will be in London, England courtesy of the splendiful MCM Expo and Emma Vieceli who invited me to meet the UK Dramacon/Svet fans. ...So you guys, like, better show up or I'll cry :D;;;;
The schedule as I understand it is this:

SATURDAY
2:00-3:00pm -- panel with [info]emmav! She will ask me questions and I will pretend to not understand them due to her outrageous British accent, so it should be loads of fun :3 (Hi, Emma! :D)
3:00-4:00pm -- signing at the TOKYOPOP booth (they will have copies of Dramacon Ultimate, which won't be out in UK until spring, I believe? Advance copies, cool beans!)

SUNDAY
2:00-3:00pm -- signing at the TOKYOPOP booth (of same!)

I am not sure if I will have a table or not, but either way I should be easy to spot--just look for a wide-eyed Russian girl in glasses hanging on to Emma's sleeve for dear life.

---------------------------
Speaking of Dramacon Ultimate--looks like it's already out in North America, hope you enjoy the extra short story!
(Psst, thank you for your comment, [info]ladyterentia *feels warm and fuzzy* And I'd love to go to Otakon, I hope they invite me someday!)

...Okay, I'm falling asleep by the keyboard, here. Good night, everyone!
-.-ZzZZzZzzzz
